Malaika graduated from the University of Nottingham with an undergraduate degree in Law in 2023. She later selected family law as part of her Masters electives and completed her research paper on the legal rights of cohabiting couples, focusing on Resolution’s campaign for reform, for which she received a distinction-grade mark. She also volunteered at Family Advice Midlands and gained experience sitting with the family team during her vacation scheme experience.

Prior to joining the firm, Malaika interned in the tax and legal team at Deloitte, Zambia, where she spent six months gaining experience in tax advisory work, legal research, and supporting client-facing matters across a range of corporate and individual tax issues. She subsequently worked at North Paddington Food Bank for one year, supporting local community services, which strengthened her interest inworking with individuals and families facing vulnerability and hardship.

Malaika is currently completing her LLM through the University of Law and preparing to sit SQE2, with a continued focus  qualifying as a solicitor in England and Wales.
