Danny is a commercial media lawyer with particular expertise in the TV and Sport sectors.
Danny has experience advising on a wide range of commercial and regulatory issues in the media sector, both in private practice and in-house. He is particularly experienced advising on content distribution and carriage arrangements, the sale and acquisition of sports media rights, production and licensing, and broadcast regulatory matters.
Before joining Clintons, Danny spent two years in the Media & Technology team of a major international law firm, advising media businesses such as the Premier League, BT, Paramount and UKTV. Prior to that, Danny spent a decade working in-house for AEG, Paramount, NBC Universal and BT – highlights of his in-house career include negotiating complex content distribution arrangements with partners such as Sky, Virgin Media, Netflix and AMC, overseeing two successful renewals of BT Sport’s rights to UEFA club competitions, and taking a lead role for BT on the formation in 2022 of the TNT Sports joint venture with Warner Bros. Discovery.
Danny read Law and Criminology at the University of Sheffield. In addition to his commercial media practice, he also holds an LLM in International Law from UCL, and has written several articles in this area that have been published in academic journals. He is fluent in French.
