Litigation & Dispute Resolution

Clintons has a formidable reputation in the area of litigation and dispute resolution and is the market leader for contentious entertainment and media work

Clintons has a formidable reputation in the area of litigation and dispute resolution. Our partners are eminent in this field and handle a full range of contentious issues, including the most complex and high-profile litigation.

Although we deal with a wide diversity of litigation matters, it will come as no surprise that we have particular expertise in the entertainment, media, creative  and related industries. Indeed, many of the cases in which we have acted have contributed to the law governing these areas. In-house lawyers and other solicitors frequently turn to us for advice on substantial and complex matters.

In the media and entertainment fields specifically, our expertise is called upon by both major and independent record companies and music publishers. We have been involved in many ground breaking cases in Music, and have represented (amongst others) The Stone Roses in their battle for independence from Silvertone/Zomba, U2 against the PRS, Sony in its defence of proceedings brought by George Michael and John Wadlow in establishing a manager's right to perpetual post-term commission in his case against Seal.

The team for general commercial litigation and dispute resolution comprises Seb Jones, Robert Ryder and Partners Tim Bienias and Stephen Joelson.

The team for contentious media and entertainment work comprises Halina Wielogorska, Emma Sagir, Charlie Anderson and Partners Karim Bouzidi, David Griffiths and Andrew Sharland.
