Layla Bunni joined Clintons in July 2014 as an employment law specialist.  Prior to joining Clintons, she was a Partner at Starr & Partners LLP, heading up their employment practice.  She trained at the US firm, Debevoise & Plimpton and upon qualification, joined the employment department of CMS Cameron McKenna.

Layla’s clients are drawn from a diverse range of industries including those in entertainment, financial services, pharmaceuticals and media and technology.  Layla also advises high net worth individuals and senior executives.
Layla’s main areas of non-contentious work include managing employee relations issues (both employer and employee), reviewing and drafting employment agreements and consultancy contracts; reviewing and drafting HR policies and procedures, hiring and firing senior executives, advising on redundancy programmes, and advising on TUPE matters.

Layla's litigation experience includes handling High Court claims on anti-compete and post-termination restrictions; and employment tribunal claims relating to, amongst other things, unfair dismissal, whistleblowing and discrimination and trade union disputes. 

Layla is also a registered practitioner with the DIFC Courts in the Dubai International Financial Centre.

Layla regularly provides clients with training on a multitude of employment related matters including, diversity and managing disciplinary and grievance investigations and hearings. She has co-written a chapter on jurisdiction and governing law for the publication “Cross-Border Transfers and Redundancies”.
