Maggie Rae

Maggie Rae is a consultant in the firm’s family department, joining Clintons from Mishcon de Reya in 1999.  She has over 34 years’ experience of dealing with the whole range of family law matters, and routinely acts for high net worth individuals and their spouses, both domestically and internationally, many of whom are in the public eye.  Maggie is well-recognised as one of the country’s leading authorities in the area of pensions on divorce. 

Maggie has lectured widely, both for academics and other members of the profession.  She is a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors’ Family Law Association) and a fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. 

As well as having extensive litigation experience, Maggie is widely known for her alternative dispute resolution work, and has used those skills to great success in many different cases.  Maggie is also a member of the Central London Collaborative Forum (http://www.collaborativefamilylaw.org.uk/). 

Maggie was a member of the government’s consultation panel on pensions and divorce and a special advisor to the House of Commons’ Social Security Select Committee in relation to pensions and divorce.  She is the author of “Women and the Law”, “Children and the Law” and “First Rights and Child Care Law” and is the co-author with Robin Ellison and David Salter of “Pensions and Divorce: Law, Practice and Precedents.” 

Maggie is also the chair of Refuge, the country's leading campaigning organisation and provider of help for victims of domestic violence.
